REHEARSE-A-THON
-
-
We will have our “Rehearse-A-Thon” on Saturday, September 6th. This will be like an additional day of band camp- hours will be 9am-7pm. Attendance will be mandatory and students should eat a good breakfast before they arrive and bring a lunch and snacks. Dress just like it is a band camp day. This will also serve as the second mandatory fundraiser. Each student is encouraged to find sponsors that will pay them a fixed amount or an hourly rate for 9 hours of rehearsal. Last year the students did very well with this event. Each student is required to raise at least $50.00. There is an opt out form for this as well (similar to the candy) If you would prefer to pay the $50.00 instead of getting sponsors you can. The opt out form is available on the website under Band Registration. (note: students must participate even if you choose the opt out method) The first $50.00 raised by the students will go towards the general band fund. Anything raised beyond the first $50.00 will go to the student’s account. If you have any questions, please contact Cindy Lally with Ways & Means at bclally@embarqmail.com or Ivan Sanchez at isanchez22@embarqmail.com.
Click here, to download the plegde form.
CHAPERONE VOLUNTEERS

Before you submit the form to the school board, please print a copy of it for Kathy Krumm at Kskrumm@aol.com, our chaperone chairperson. Click here to register.

PREMIER NIGHT - AUGUST 8
-
-
Welcome Freshman Parents to Lake Howell Band!
To give everyone a chance to see what our kids have been working on for two weeks and also socialize a bit with some of the other families, we have what is called Premier night.
Premier night is Friday August 8th at 7:00pm at the school. Try to arrive a little early though. This is a family event and everyone brings a food or drink item (see list below). The band association will provide the meat.
The show is first and is normally on the grassy football practice area behind the school but follow the crowds and you will find it. You can drop your food item off first in the cafeteria. We will be eating after the show. You may want to bring a blanket or chairs to sit on during the show.
Try to bring your item in a disposable dish or mark anything you want back such as serving spoons etc. with your name.
If you have any other questions, please email Steve and Teresa Polino in hospitality at TPolino@cfl.rr.com or call them at 407-677-0226. Also if you are willing to help set up or break down, they will need some volunteers so please let them know.
Last Name:
A through I -Side dishes (ex. green salads, baked beans, potato salads, rice dishes, cole slaw, mac and cheese, or any ethnic dish that is your favorite)
J through M- Four (2 liter) soft drinks (some diet)

2008-2009 FOOTBALL PROGRAM INFORMATION
-
-
Here’s a great opportunity to earn money for your band account over the summer! The LHHS Band Parent Association is now assembling the 2008 Season Football Program which includes photos and information about all Silver Regiment Marching Band Members and the LHHS Football Team. Area merchants love to advertise in the program because it offers economical publicity of their businesses to thousands of local families. The 32-page program is sold at all LHHS home football games. You can earn significant money for your band account by selling ads to businesses desiring to advertise in our program. One-half of the cost of each ad you sell will be credited to your band account. For example--sell a quarter-page ad for $90--receive a $45 credit to your band account. Sell a full-page ad for $200 and you receive $100! Simply call or visit a local business and ask to speak with the individual in charge of advertising . Then offer the information provided on the attached ad rate sheet which details ad sizes, costs, submission formats and deadlines. Get started now, work hard and you can pay off your entire band account before the beginning of marching season! Don’t miss out on this huge fundraising opportunity. Contact Carolyn Hess at 407-366-1060 or daffy4daffodils@yahoo.com with questions or to get a copy of last year’s program to help with your sales efforts.
