The Lake Howell High School Band Program will be hosting the Third Annual Silver Hawk Summer Music Camp for middle school aged kids. We will have two different programs available, they are Beginning Band and Intermediate/Advanced Band.

The Beginning Band class is for incoming 6th graders who would like to learn how to play a standard band instrument. The Intermediate/Advanced class is for those students who already have at least a year’s experience playing a band instrument and want to receive higher level instruction on their instrument, as well as play fun, challenging music.

Both the Beginning and Intermediate/Advanced classes will be taught by instructors who are specialists on the instrument they are teaching. Students will also have sessions with the entire band, conducted by Gary Ulrich of Tuskawilla Middle School and Kerry Couch of South Seminole Middle School, and Joseph Monahan of Indian Trails Middle School.

Anyone can come to this camp regardless of the Middle School they will be attending.

Each of these classes will have a combined concert on the last day of the camp.

Camp Dates:
Wednesday, June 11, 2008 – Thursday, June 26, 2008

Camp Times:
Beginning Band - 9:00 am – 10:00 am
Intermediate/Advanced - 10:30 am– 12:30 pm

Camp Concert:
June 26th at 7:00 pm, in the Tuskawilla Middle School Gymnasium.

Instrument Trial Night:
We will have an instrument trial night on Tuesday, June 3rd, from 6:30 pm until 8:00 pm in the Tuskawilla Middle School band room for everyone registering for the Beginning Band program. Your child will choose what instrument they would like to play and then the parents will be able to rent the instrument on this night. Music and Arts Center will be there to provide Instrument rentals. This is the only night and times we will be able to run this so it is very important you are here.

Camp Cost:
Beginning Camp $65.00
Intermediate/Advanced Camp $95.00
This cost includes Instruction, a Summer Band T-shirt, and Music. Students who stop attending classes will not be refunded any portion of the camp costs.
